What is Kief?

Kief is the most potent part of the cannabis flower and contains a high concentration of terpenes and cannabinoids. Specifically, kief refers to the cannabis flower’s trichomes’ resin glands which come in the form of small, sticky crystals which are often referred to as pollen.

In the wild, these trichomes attract pollinators and deter predators, but for smokers, kief is sought after due to its high potency. For comparison, a standard cannabis flower contains between 12-15% THC, while kief can have a THC level of up to 70%.

What can you do with Kief?

Using your Pollen Presser you can tightly pack the kief together to form smokable hash pellets or pucks. Alternatively, with the loose pollen that has been collected in your grinder, you can use a scraping device to remove small amounts so they can be sprinkled in with your dry herb.
