5 Reasons To Quit Your Job And Work In The Cannabis Industry
Do you ever get a case of the Mondays? Do you wake up every morning and wonder why you’re working in a job you hate? If this sounds like you, you should consider quitting your dead-end job and working for the ever-growing cannabis industry instead.
It’s Rapidly Growing
The cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world right now. This is especially the case in the United States, where cannabis is legal for medical use in over half the country and eight more states are putting cannabis on the ballot this fall. There are always new dispensaries popping up, and advancements in cannabis technology have led to a boom in labs that develop new concentrates and edibles. This is also an industry that one can say is probably recession proof, as people like to indulge in mind altering substances more when their lives are not going so well. The medical cannabis industry in particular, is blossoming quickly, as more research comes out about the benefits of medical marijuana.
You’ll Be Doing Something You Love
You love smoking weed in your free time, so how much would you love to get paid to work with it. You can put your extensive knowledge of nugs to good use and be a bud-tender (or cannabarista, if you’d prefer) If you love the outdoors, you could work as a bud trimmer. If pieces are your passion you can work in a head shop. It’s better than working at a shitty fast food job.
It Pays Pretty Well
Depending on the field that you decide to go into, jobs in the cannabis industry can end up paying pretty well. You could start out as a bud trimmer making 12-15 an hour and then become a gardener, or someone who makes concentrates, potentially earning up to 90K a year! Not only can you get a job working with the plant you love, you can also live pretty well off doing it!
It’s Stable Work
It’s safe to say that the cannabis industry is here to stay, no matter what direction you choose to take. The stigma on cannabis is slowly fading away, and the industry is attracting big name investors. Harvest time in California provides trimmers with tons of steady work. Moms who have never smoked herb in their lives populate growing fields as bud trimmers because the schedule is flexible enough that they can take care of their kids, and they make enough to supplement other the other forms of income they get and live comfortably.
You Don’t Need Experience
You don’t need any experience to get a job working in the cannabis industry. You can start out as a bud trimmer, eventually work your way up to cultivator, and make bank! You can also start out as a cashier, get promoted to management, and then eventually open your own dispensary. If you do have experience, especially working in a lab then you can probably rise up through the ranks pretty quickly
There’s always new jobs in this budding industry. The best news is that they’re not even hard to find, as long as you live somewhere cannabis is legal. If you don’t, then perhaps it’s time for a change of scenery. If you hate your job, and I suspect many of you do, then you should quit and work in the cannabis industry. I’m pretty sure they don’t drug test, so roll a joint and put together your resume. Good luck!
