Bong Bowls are designed to hold your dry herb or tobacco mix. They consist of a bowl and a joint that connects to your bong’s compatible joint (male or female). When ignited, the loaded herb bowl produces smoke. As you inhale the smoke is pulled through the water-filled bong for important cooling and filtration before entering your lungs.

Buying a Replacement Bong Bowl

The most important factors to consider when buying a new bong bowl are compatibility (female or male bowl joint size), load volume, function, and build quality.

The first consideration when purchasing a herb bowl is checking the female or male joint size of your bong, bubbler, or ash catcher. This will enable you to correctly select a compatible bowl in the style of your choice.

Next, you need to determine the load volume so you will know how much material you can smoke with your bong at one time. If you prefer big hits, or regularly share your bong, you will likely require a bigger size bowl (18mm).

Which size of Bong Bowl (diameter) should I get?

It is important to choose the right diameter of bowl for your bong, and this can be determined by measuring the opening of your bong’s outer stem in millimeters. We call this measurement the joint size.

Most bongs use a 14.5mm bowl or 18.5mm bowl. The maximum size bong bowl we stock is a 29.2mm joint size. Be warned that they produce enormous rips that are only suitable for very seasoned smokers.

When should I use a Bong Adapter?

If you have a bong that doesn’t match your bowl you can use a bong adapter.

Bong adapters provide the option to use a wrong diameter bong/bowl combination. However, you still need to make sure that the adapter you get fits both items. You can do this by measuring the pipes that connect both parts together. The bong part of the adapter should be male in most cases, whereas the bowl often needs a female part to connect to the adapter or bong.

Can I load concentrates into my Bong Bowl?

We would definitely advise against loading concentrates into your bong bowl as it will leave unwanted residue inside the bowl and potentially cause long term damage.

Concentrates and waxes need to melt into the bowl, meaning you need to heat up the bowl instead of its contents. This extreme heat exposure can crack the glass, as it is not designed for this type of use.

We advise you to always use a dab banger or dab nail when you want to smoke concentrates.
