Rizla is one of the oldest and most respected names in rolling papers. Their history dates back to the 16^th century, when Pierre Lacroix traded his papers for a bottle of champagne and realized the potential in the market. It took nearly 100 years before the methods were perfected by Philippe Lacroix in 1660. Production soon followed and the Rizla legacy began its rise to the top, pausing in 1865 to switch to rice papers and take on the name Rizla: “Riz” comes from “rice”, and La (along with the trademark cross that follows the brand name) came from the family name of LaCroix (which means “the cross” in French).

In the UK, the word “Rizla” is synonymous with “rolling paper” due to their widespread use. They come in many forms, accommodating every type of smoker in every corner of the globe. Innovation wasn’t just the starting point for the company, it has been a defining aspect throughout the years. They were one of the first companies to produce flavored rolling papers, having launched menthol and strawberry flavors more than a hundred years ago in 1906. They followed this up with their premium fine weight papers in 1910, also leading the industry in the production of thin papers.
