What is a concentrate nail?

A concentrate nail or bong nail is a sturdy piece of quartz or metal which can be heated to intense temperatures. Once heated, a nail provides the perfect way to smoke your favorite concentrated oils, waxes, and dabs.

Nails attach to your bong in the same way you’d hook up a normal bowl piece. Once installed, you can heat the nail with a small butane or propane torch.

When the nail begins to glow red hot, carefully bring a small dose of your favorite concentrate within a few centimeters of the nail using your dab tool. It should immediately vaporize, leaving you with a bong full of delicious and super-potent concentrate smoke!

Some nails require the use of a dome to help trap the vapor produced by the concentrate as you’re smoking. Domeless Nails use a series of small holes through which the smoke can be drawn immediately, removing the need for an external dome.

Do I Need a Special Bong to Use Concentrate Nails?

Not at all! You can find a concentrate nail compatible with just about any bong and rapidly convert your ordinary bong into a complete dab rig.

You just need to make sure the glassware on your bong and your concentrate nail is compatible. This is based on the size of the nail’s connectors as well as your bong’s outer stem.
